Thanks Mel,

You’re the best. And remember what I always say; “… and impulse buy, is the best buy…”

… or something like that.

Yayyy, Finally

They are a little early, but still.

I recently received an email from the BMC from some one else finding morels in wood chips.

They were replied to as being “mexican wood chip morels” and “not very tasty”

I dont care!…. there my morels… got it! now back off….

i might not really want to eat them.. with the led, and the stuff… but..

eh.. they’re morels…

anyways, there are mushrooms out now, and the wine caps at the arboretum that i am equally hesitant to eat.. but….

soon… soon….

… uhh.. after winter?

Ok,

So after a long winter of no mushrooms, I figured I’de finally add my post of “whats been keeping me going”.

this is a compelation of all the mushroom realated things i could find during the off season.

I originally wanted to post this a lot sooner, but couldn’t muster the will to use this retched machine (just kidding computer… i like you… kind of.. i think)

anyway,

Hope you enjoy.

It was a long winter.. but i think i made it….

be gone with yee cold

*I made the pie above for Matsu’s going away party. She helped me identify some of my first Maitakes at our school. It was a sweet potato, black trumpet, and candied walnut confetti torte… it was awesome..

**This was a cake i insisted be made with mushroom meringue topping.. or at least some mushroom themed topping. Brad a Blue Frog Bakery did an awsome job.

***OOOooo, i forgot. i should have wrote about this,

These were Matsutakes that i FINALLY Found, after searching so much, around multiple shops that supposedly had them, one was sakyana in Alston. but at last i found them at …miso, near porter square.., they had matsutakes for sale that were “grown” in Oregon i think…

I’m pretty sure that’s very very wrong, but anyways, they had them ! :) and they were good

I bet they’d reconstitute all right, but i actually really like the way they look. Myabe ill keep them as is, or shellac them or something.

Also, i plan on using the left over mushroom box to try’n start my own. I bet there’s still plenty of mycelium left in there, PLUS my buddy down the street gave me a bunch of his stores coffee grounds… so i can try it on my own
